SLI to Host 150 K-12 Educators for a “Science in Action” Day

Educators and school leaders will spend ½ day at Johns Hopkins University to gain first-hand experience in the conduct of science of learning research and explore how research is related to educational practice.

In collaboration with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL) at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac MD, the Science of Learning Institute will host 150 K-12 educators and school leaders at Johns Hopkins University in July 2017 for a Science in Action Day.  The goal of this day is to provide educators with firsthand experience with how scientists explore human learning.  The visit will be part of the Science of Teaching and School Leadership Academy hosted by the CTTL, which is a 5-day intensive professional development workshop to inform educators about research on learning and education.  Please see the Academy’s website for a list of researchers and topics they will be sharing.
