SLI highlights translational science at SRCD 2017

SLI explores how translational science can advance science and serve society at SRCD 2017

SLI explored the importance of translational science for benefiting both science and society at the biennial meeting of the Society for Research in Child Development in Austin TX.  SLI’s Kelly Fisher and Kristin Gagnier hosted a panel on the importance of translational science for advancing science and serving society.  This conversational roundtable explored issues related to the translation and dissemination of research to practice and policy and how greater advances can be achieved.  They also presented a paper in a symposium focused on the importance of communication between basic science research and program evaluation work in the field.  This session explored how evaluation work can expand our scientific understanding and illuminate how to maximize the generalizability of research to real world settings.
