The Spatial Intelligence and Learning Center is sponsoring an add-a-day pre-conference at the International Mind Brain and Education Society (IMBES) meeting in Fort Worth, TX. Researchers in various subfields that support the science of learning often attend specialized conferences and thus there are few opportunities for networking across disciplines. This workshop will serve as a venue where researchers studying different aspects of learning can come together to share findings. All attendees are invited (and encouraged) to stay for the IMBES conference (http://www.imbes.org/). Abstracts for IMBES are due June 1. The mission of IMBES is to foster collaboration and dialogue between the biological, cognitive, developmental and education sciences with the aim of improving the state of knowledge within and across these fields.
The workshop will feature three plenary speakers and a poster session where attendees are invited to present their work. The speakers will each give an hour-long presentation. The talks will be followed by a roundtable discussion among the speakers on their views on the evolution of the field of the science of learning.
