Bio

My research interests include the development of prevention and intervention strategies, with a focus on underserved urban populations. I am currently evaluating the use of mindfulness and yoga to improve emotional and behavioral outcomes among chronically stressed elementary and middle school students. I am also investigating the use of cognitive behavioral strategies for prevention of depression in urban youth and adolescents. Other current work includes the evaluation of cognitive behavioral strategies to promote maternal mental health and prevent postpartum depression.
