Assistant Professor of Surgery; Assistant Program Director, Department of Surgery
Dr. Sacks is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and is Surgery Clerkship and Curriculum Director. She earned her medical degree from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where she also completed her residency in General Surgery. Dr. Sacks completed both research and clinical fellowships in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where she was an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery. Before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty, she was an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Director of Undergraduate Education at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She also received a Master of Education with an Emphasis in the Teaching of the Health Sciences degree from the University of Houston. Her research focuses on minimally invasive and simulation technologies as well as education of surgical trainees and medical students.
