Dr. Barbara Landau is the Director of the institute. As director of the institute, Barbara works to bring together faculty who are interested in understanding learning at all levels of analysis. This includes the creation and implementation of programs and activities that support faculty research, pre- and post-doctoral training, and dissemination on content about the science of learning. She is a cognitive scientist with broad interests in human cognition and its development. Dr. Landau's research focuses on the mental representation of space and language, its acquisition, its use in adulthood, and its compromise under neurological damage due to brain injury or genetic abnormalities.
